The Living Nativity of Rupit is one of the most authentic in Osona and has a long tradition, since it has been performed since 1987. The entire town, with its unmistakable suspension bridge and its medieval centre, transforms into the real Bethlehem. Below we detail everything you need to know about tickets, times and where to park.
The experience: A medieval town turned into Bethlehem
Rupit's great asset is its natural and architectural environment. The organization takes advantage of the streets cobblestones, the slope of the ravine and the old gateways to place the different scenes, both static and moving, where you can see traditional trades and biblical passages.
The setting achieves a magical climate thanks to the well-kept costumes of the townspeople and lighting gentle that invites you to walk unhurriedly and to discover little hidden corners along the route.
Times and dates right in the middle of the holidays
- Performance dates: The event takes advantage of the days of peak Christmas attendance to facilitate family visits, held towards end of December, usually around the Pont de Sant Esteve.
- Start time: Taking advantage of dusk with the lighting of the lamps and torches, the event traditionally starts at 6:00 PM

How to get there and where to park (Attention, restrictions)
Rupit is a heritage treasure of very narrow streets. If you are planning to visit the nativity scene, it is vital to have clear the logistics of the vehicle:
- Compulsory parking: It is absolutely forbidden to drive a car inside the historic town center The only viable option is to leave the vehicle at municipal parking (payment zone) located at the very entrance of the town.
- Recommendation: Go there well in advance. The town fills up quickly on those afternoons and it is worth securing a place to arrive at the performance in peace.
Gastronomy: From the grill to traditional desserts
Osona stands out for being a region of good food. Once the route is finished, the town itself has fantastic options to sit down and regain strength:
