Viladecans Living Nativity 2026
The Viladecans Living Nativity (Baix Llobregat) is a deeply rooted urban event that is easy to visit. Recapturing the spirit of the first performances of the 1970s, a great team of volunteers transforms one of the city's most central parks into a fantastic outdoor theater. Here are all the practical details you need to plan your visit.
The experience: Theater with live dialogue in the park
A major advantage of this event is its location. The show takes place entirely in the interior of Gardens of Magdalena Modolell (also popularly known as the Parc dels Ocellets), a very well-connected space right next to the Old Town Hall of Viladecans.
Artistically, the more than 70 people who collaborate there represent 8 large scenes centered on the birth of Jesus. What gives the representation more value is that it is not only contemplative: the scenes are performed with spoken dialogue entirely live by the actors. The finale of the route is accompanied by live carol singing by a guest choir.
Calendar and reservations at the ticket office
- Central dates: The event is traditionally scheduled over the long weekend just before Christmas Day.
- Time slots: It has a smoothly run programme of four passes every afternoon. According to the day, the opening of doors is located between 18:00 h and 19:00 h, with groups entering in 45-minute slots until 20:15 h in the evening.
Attention when getting tickets: the organization maintains the classic and practical system, so tickets are purchased directly at the ticket office located at the entrance to the gardens (Carrer d’Àngel Guimerà, 1).
Dinner in the center, cava and hot soup
In keeping with tradition, to compensate for the cold of the evening, the organization offers adult visitors at the exit with a tasting of hot soup and a glass of cava, while children receive a detail delivered by King Melchior himself.
Viladecans is a large city with a very wide choice of places to eat. Our best tip when leaving the Jardins de Magdalena Modolell is to walk along the nearby pedestrian shopping area, around Carrer de Sant Joan and the Rambla area. You will find plenty of pizzerias, tapas bars and restaurants without needing to move the car, making it easy to round off the night.
